To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
We live in a world where we constantly see images telling us what our facial features should be and how our bodies should look, but you know… Their bodies aren’t even like that. They use certain angles, photoshop, and maybe have gotten plastic surgery.
Society tells us to be one way, but we all have beautiful qualities that fit outside of this box. We’re unique individuals, and there’s beauty found in our differences.
So you have something that makes you stand out… how cool is that? By knowing it sets you apart and being confident in that quality, you’re beautiful for that alone. I always find myself admiring people for their confidence, no matter what they look like. I find it especially courageous to be confident when someone’s appearance fits outside of society’s definition of “beauty.”
Disclaimer: If you feel like that watching what you eat or plastic surgery would make you more confident, you should still go for them. Self-love is all about how you feel about yourself, and discarding the negative opinions of others.
